Our Process
The production of your Dog Tag Companion is a relatively straight-forward process.

Step 1.

The process begins with your choice of a tag material and shape.  After ordering and payment, you will need to send Dog Tag Companions the photo that you wish to use, along with any specific directions about which part of your photo you wish used.

Step 2.

Once your photo is recieved it will under go processing.  Essentially, your photo will be cropped, turned into a monochrome image, and the brightness will be balanced for engraving.  This is the most time consuming and difficult part of production.

Step 3.

Once your photo is ready for further engraving, an artwork proof is sent to our customers via email for their approval.

Step 4.

Using the balanced monochrome picture, the tag that you have ordered will be impact printed by a Roland Metaza impact printer.  This machine uses impacts of varying depth to reproduce the monochrome colour scale, which will result in a seemingly 3D engraving of your photo.

Step 5

Once your Dog tag Companion is printed, it is packaged and mailed.
